The client is a government agency responsible for handling financial transactions and data exchange with other government departments. There were regulatory and security constraints. These constraints resulted in the agency unable to communicate with the other department.

A government approved third party vendor was required to handle this integration. The current setup lacked structure, visibility, and control. This setup made integrations slow, risky, and hard to maintain.

  • The solution exposed functional components. The reason for this is web services that could communicate over standard internet protocols. This allowed different systems to interact regardless of platform or technology.
  • A centralized BizTalk ESB solution was implemented to manage routing, transformation, and orchestration of services.
  • A centralized data layer was introduced to support operational tracking and reporting.
  • Sentinet was used as an API management gateway to control access, apply security policies, and manage service endpoints.
