Making realistic pilot training more accessible and affordable was the goal behind Project Nimbus. Built by Acme One for an aviation training organization, the Unity based VR flight simulator enables pilots to practice cockpit operations, flight controls, and emergency scenarios in an immersive virtual environment. The platform helped new users master takeoff and landing up to 30% faster while delivering a scalable, cost effective alternative to traditional flight simulators.
Traditional flight simulators provide valuable training but are often expensive to purchase, maintain, and operate. Their high cost and limited availability make it difficult for many training organizations to scale learning opportunities for new pilots.

Acme One developed Project Nimbus using Unity, combining realistic aircraft controls with immersive VR interactions that closely replicate real cockpit operations.
The simulator allows users to interact naturally with the throttle, yoke, switches, and cockpit instruments using VR controllers and hand tracked interactions.
Dynamic weather systems, turbulence, and day and night environments create realistic flight conditions that challenge users in different scenarios.
To support beginners, the platform includes AI assisted guided training that introduces cockpit controls step by step, making aviation concepts easier to understand while reducing the learning curve.
The development team also optimized rendering pipelines and scalable environments to ensure smooth performance across a wide range of VR hardware instead of targeting only high end systems.
