Executive Summary

Reducing cabin crew training time by up to 40% while improving safety preparedness was the goal behind Project Nimbus. Acme One developed the Unity based VR simulator for an aviation training organization, delivering immersive emergency response training, AI driven passenger interactions, and instructor led performance analytics within a scalable virtual learning environment.

Key Results

  • Up to 40% faster completion of procedural training modules.
  • Improved long term retention through immersive, repeatable simulations.
  • Reduced reliance on physical aircraft mock ups and training equipment.
  • AI driven passenger interactions created more realistic emergency scenarios.
  • Instructor dashboard enabled real time performance tracking and replay.
  • Designed to scale across multiple VR headsets and classroom environments.

What challenges do aviation organizations face when training cabin crew?

Traditional cabin crew training depends heavily on physical aircraft mock ups that are expensive to maintain, difficult to update, and limited in capacity. As training requirements grow, organizations often struggle to provide realistic emergency scenarios while keeping costs under control.

Key challenges included:

  • High operating costs associated with physical training facilities.
  • Static simulations that lacked realistic passenger behavior.
  • Limited training capacity due to available physical space.
  • Low engagement caused by repetitive classroom exercises.
  • Difficulty measuring trainee performance consistently.
  •

Goals & Objective

The project aimed to:

  • Reduce dependence on physical aircraft mock ups.
  • Deliver immersive scenario based VR training.
  • Increase training capacity without expanding facilities.
  • Improve knowledge retention and trainee confidence.
  • Provide instructors with measurable performance insights.
How did Acme One build an immersive VR cabin crew simulator?

Acme One developed realistic 3D aircraft interiors that accurately replicate cabin layouts, equipment, and workflows found in commercial aviation.

Scenario based training modules allow crew members to practice pre flight inspections, passenger service, turbulence management, medical incidents, emergency evacuations, and other operational procedures inside an immersive virtual environment.

To increase realism, AI driven virtual passengers react dynamically to trainee decisions instead of following scripted sequences. This creates unique training sessions that closely resemble real world cabin operations.

The platform also includes an instructor dashboard that enables trainers to monitor live sessions, review performance scores, replay scenarios, and identify areas for improvement.

Project Nimbus was designed for compatibility across major VR headsets while also supporting classroom projection, allowing organizations to integrate immersive training into existing learning environments.

How was the project implemented?

The implementation followed a structured development approach:

  • Designed realistic aircraft cabin environments.
  • Developed interactive scenario based training modules.
  • Integrated AI driven passenger behaviors.
  • Built instructor monitoring and assessment tools.
  • Optimized deployment across multiple VR devices.
  • Conducted testing and validation with training scenarios.
  •

What Our Client Says

Don’t just take our word for it. Hear what our satisfied clients have to say about their experience partnering with ACME ONE

"We needed a way to train more crew, more often, without the cost and hassle of physical mock-ups. Project Nimbus gave us that and more. Our trainees are more engaged, they remember what they learn, and we can finally scale our training without scaling our space."
