The client wanted to initiate a common task management product that could be used by any organization, regardless of industry or department. The vision was to create a flexible platform that teams could adopt quickly without complex setup. Unlike solutions built for a specific company, this product had to support various organizations under one system. It needed to be adaptable, accessible from anywhere, and simple for everyday use.

Challenges

The client also wanted a structured user hierarchy to maintain control while allowing collaboration within teams.

Goals & Objective

The primary objective was to create a market ready task management solution with broad usability.

Key goals included:

Enable task creation, assignment, and tracking
Provide real time updates and notifications
Allow access from both desktop and mobile devices
Support multiple organizations under one system
Improve accountability through reminders and enlargement
Enhance productivity through clear visibility and feedback tools

The product had to be practical, scalable, and ready for commercial deployment.

Solutions

Acme One developed a web and mobile based task management system designed for flexibility and ease of use.

Multi Tenant Architecture

The system was built to support multiple companies within a single platform. Each organization had its own workspace and user base.

Structured User Roles

Three user roles were defined:

System Admin, responsible for onboarding companies
Company Admin, responsible for adding and managing users
Company Users, who create, assign, and complete tasks
Comprehensive Task Management

The platform allowed users to:

Create and assign tasks to individuals or teams
Set deadlines and time constraints
Change task status to pending, completed, canceled, or overdue
Receive automated reminders
Escalate tasks to managers if not completed on time
Track task priority using color coding
Plan activities using Gantt charts
Engage in discussions through built in comment boards
Mobile Accessibility

The mobile application included two main views:

Calendar view for tracking tasks by date
List view for detailed task management

This ensured users could manage responsibilities from anywhere.

Implementation

The solution was developed using:

ASP.NET MVC for the web application
Xamarin for cross platform mobile development
MS SQL Server for database management
Microsoft Azure for deployment and hosting

The system was designed for performance, security, and scalability to support multiple organizations simultaneously.
