To manage crisis situations better, the client wanted a reliable system to create and share crisis management plans across the organization. In high-pressure moments, employees were struggling to quickly find the right policies and procedures, which delayed proper action. Paper based manuals and scattered digital documents were not practical in high stress moments.

To address this gap, the organization visualized a Mobile Emergency Response Plan, known as MERP. The goal was to provide instant access to contingency plan through both web and mobile platforms, including iOS and Android devices.

Building an emergency response application comes with unique demands. The system must work flawlessly under pressure.

Accessibility Under Stress

Emergency plans had to be easy to find and simple to navigate, even in high pressure situations. Complicated menus or slow loading screens were not acceptable.

Secure System Integration

The app needed to connect with backend systems while maintaining strict security standards, especially for login authentication and API communication.

Real Time Performance

During emergencies, updates and communication must happen instantly. The platform had to support real time messaging without delays.

User Engagement Before Emergencies

Staff needed to stay familiar with the app’s features before an incident occurred. Encouraging regular engagement was essential for preparedness.

Solutions

Our team designed and developed a sturdy mobile and web application. This application focused on reliability and security.

Strong Application Architecture

The mobile application was developed using React Native with a structured architectural approach. A centralized Redux store was executed to manage application data efficiently and maintain consistency across views.

Secure API Integration

Backend services were linked using secure HTTPS protocols. Verification was handled through OAuth and JWT. This verification process ensured that only verified users could access delicate information.

Real Time Communication

WebSockets were integrated to support instant messaging and live updates during emergency situations. Push notifications were added to alert staff immediately when new information was available.

Reusable and Scalable Components

Reusable functional components were created to maintain code consistency and simplify future enhancements. Custom JavaScript flowcharts and embedded webviews allowed structured HTML content to be displayed clearly within the app. A built in document and file reader enabled quick access to important files.

Analytics and Engagement Tools

Analytics and tracking tools were combined to monitor usage and engagement. Deep linking features allowed users to navigate directly to relevant content when receiving alerts.

Deployment and Accessibility

The application was successfully deployed on both iOS and Android platforms, ensuring broad accessibility across the organization.
